Sie hat darauf einen eigenen Sound entwickelt: expressiv, lyrisch, pointiert. Seit mehr als vier Jahrzehnten macht sie hochkarätige Alben. Erst 2025 wählten sie US-Kritiker erneut zur Nr. 1 ihres Fachs. In Europa ist sie noch immer ein Geheimtipp. Dabei hat sie sogar über die Erde hinaus Spuren hinterlassen: 1998 wurde nach der weltraum-begeisterten Holzbläserin und Komponistin offiziell ein Planetoid benannt.
